Mr. Universe Competition by FIHC (historical)

From 1950 to 1968, the International Weightlifting Federation considered itself as the world governing organization for Bodybuilding too (At that time the name was therefore FIHC - Fédération Internationale Haltérophile et Culturiste). The event should be held in conjunction with the World weightlifting championships. It is not to be confused with identical named events organized by other organizations. In particular, it was only reserved for amateurs. In 1950 and 1954, the official designation was Concours du Plus Bel Athlète du Monde (World's Most Beautiful Athlete Contest).
Regulations:
1950 and 1954 three parts: (1) Presentation one by one, front, back, side. Muscle control or other pose strictly forbidden, any athlete disobeying this order will be eliminated from the contest. Award of points from 0 to 20 --- (2) Free posing with a maximum total duration of 1 minute. Minimum duration of each pose 10 seconds. Award of points from 0 to 10 --- (3) group presentation all together with free posing. Award of points from 0 to 10.
1955 three parts: (1) and (2) as in 1954 --- (3) Floor agility exercises or weightlifting exercises. In the latter case they had, for the three Olympic movements, to achieve a total representing 3 times the weight of their body. Award of points from 0 to 10.
Since 1957, the contest consisted of the parts (1) and (2) only. In each section were points awarded from 0 to 20.
