World Championship at the founding congress of the Amateur Athleten Weltunion

At the founding congress of the Amateur Athleten Weltunion (English: Amateur Athletes World Union) on 1905, Jun 10-12 in Duisburg GER as the first international federation for weightlifting and wrestling there was beside the world championship of these two sports also an event of a Triathlon (stone putting, endurance jerk, freestyle jerk).

World Championship of the Internationaler Amateur-Weltverband für Schwerathletik

The short time existing Internationaler Amateur-Weltverband für Schwerathletik (English: International Amateur Heavy Athletics Federation) as a direct predecessor of International Weightlifting Federation had two events of stone putting (16,67 kg) and weight throwing (12,5 kg) on the program at the World Championship 1913, Jul 27-28 in Breslau GER (today Polish Wrocław).
